About our GUEST SPEAKER COACH DAWN SCOTT:
Dawn is the Physical Performance Manager for the England Senior Women’s Football Team, as well as a Technical Advisor for UEFA and FIFA. She previously worked with the US WNT for 10 years, and has supported elite female football players for the past 22 years across 8 major tournaments. Dawn was part of the support team for the US WNT in their two World Cup wins in 2015 and 2019, as well as Olympic gold in 2012. She also took part in the Equal Playing Field’s trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro to support the players playing in the highest ever recorded football match – at that summit. She is currently completing her PhD under the supervision of Dr Ric Lovell at Western Sydney University. Specific areas of that research have involved validating speed thresholds specific for female players, and subsequent analysis of the training dose response for absolute compared to individualised speed thresholds.
About the COACH EMPOWERMENT NETWORK:
After talking to many female coaches around the world about their experiences in the sports industry, I realized how much I resonated with all of them from all my experiences since I started my coaching career. I decided to create a discussion group where we will meet once a month through Zoom to support and engage each other in those conversations. This is not only open to female coaches, we want male coaches to also join the conversation as this is the only way we can grow and empower each other in the sports industry. This is open for everybody who works with sports in one way or another. We will have women working in the world of sports presenting some of their own challenges and growth experiences, discuss a variety of different topics and make this as engaging as possible. It will also be a great way to network and meet other coaches who might share the same ideas (or not) in our industry. Communication, understanding, exchanging ideas and experiences are one of the most powerful ways to grow. This is a free service, all you need is to click on the link to register!
